DSTG produces non-woven needlefelts for different agro, civil engineering and building applications. The newest part of our program consists of organic-based, biodegradable or compostable nonwovens for landscaping, geo-engineering, hydroculture and viticulture.
These biobased nonwovens are based on internally produced biofibres and are widely used for weed control, erosion control, separation, vegetation and indoor vertical farming such as hydroponics. New blends of natural, animal and biofibres are introduced on the market to be used as such or to be thermomolded.
The conventional PP-PET nonwovens are designed for filtration, drainage, protection and water retention in geotextile and green roof applications. These nonwovens are increasingly made off internally extruded fibres from PET-bottles.
Sustainability is now a high priority for the classic nonwovens as well as for the Biocovers products: We make use of our own internally produced fibres. These are biobased (cradle to cradle) or from recuperated materials (recycling) and are furthermore extruded with wind mill energy (low carbon footprint) . All our newest developments for green roofs, sedum mats, hydroponics and landscaping are not only sustainable but also made of only one polymer ( de-blend ).
